The Bhutan Medical and Health Council hereby notifies that all prospective candidates seeking admission into medical and health courses in the institutes within or outside the country shall fulfill minimum entry requirement after class 12 as follows:
1. Minimum entry requirement for medical and dental education (MBBS/BDS)
The prospective candidate shall have scored Minimum of 50% each in all science subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and English with overall aggregate of 50% in class 12 board examination or equivalent.
Has passed 3 years of “pre-medical” courses at university level in case of entry to medical school without basic science
2. Minimum entry requirement for Bachelors/Diploma in nursing and other allied health science education
The prospective candidate shall have scored Minimum of 40% each in all science subjects (Biology, Physics, Chemistry) and English with overall aggregate of 40% in class 12 board examination or equivalent.
The candidates not fulfilling with the aforementioned minimum requirement in this notification will not be eligible for registration with the Council. Further, all institutes admitting students into these courses shall ensure that candidates are admitted based on this minimum requirement.
This is as per the decision of the General Council Body.
Note: Kindly note that BMHC is not in position to provide scholarship of any kind and this notification is a amended provision of BMHC Regulation 2005 pertaining to minimum requirement to pursue medical and health education after higher secondary school (class 12).
